Interested in Collaborating?
During her doctoral studies at the University of Maryland, Ziyi served as a Graduate Assistant in Collaborative Piano, where she worked closely with undergraduate and graduate students in weekly lessons, coachings, rehearsals, studio classes, juries, auditions, competitions, and degree recitals. Working with both voice and instrumental studios, she supported musicians throughout every stage of the rehearsal and performance process.
In addition to her assistantship, Ziyi collaborated in a wide variety of musical settings, including opera scene productions, chamber music performances, choral concerts, and interdisciplinary projects across the School of Music. Her experience encompasses both standard repertoire and contemporary works.
Recent collaborative highlights include a performance of Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians at the 10th International Conference on Music and Minimalism at the University of Maryland, as well as performances with The City Choir of Washington D.C., and numerous recitals for vocalists and instrumentalists.
Throughout these experiences, she has developed a collaborative approach that emphasizes careful preparation, stylistic awareness, and responsive ensemble playing, while supporting each musician’s individual artistic goals.
